Orchestrating a Theme
in the Style of Joe Hisaishi
In this free video series, watch as I orchestrate a short piano piece from start to finish in Dorico. I've purposefully left this series almost entirely unedited so that you can see every part of the process, including errors and revisions. I also didn't plan out this orchestration process in advance, so all of my orchestration decisions are captured in this series, including instrument choices, textures, layers, dynamics, etc...
Because there was very little planning for any of this, I decided to offer this series for free! Please enjoy, and make sure to listen to the final mock-up of my orchestration on YouTube: Orchestrating a theme like Joe Hisaishi - YouTube
